Are you an educational Interpreter or working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing? Knowing the minimum state requirements for

educational Interpreters is important in order to support your students, as well as to pursue professional opportunities as an interpreter.

The website NAIEDU.org is an excellent resource to find your state's requirements. The National Association of Interpreters in Education website provides state by state standards for K-12 Educational Interpreters.

To find your state standards, click on the homepage menu, navigate to "Resources">"Professional Standards"> and then "State Requirements". This opens an interactive map where you can click on the state and learn more

about it's standards. There are also additional links to state websites that can provide information about licensing, credential programs and more.
