Every day, educators and administrators like yourself are helping to guide students on the pathway to success through their educational careers.

But that journey is getting increasingly expensive and costly every single year.

Recent reports show that the average cost for educating a special needs student in the United States can range anywhere between $20,000 and $80,000 per year, and that cost is just continually increasing. So, what can school districts like yours do to ensure that you have the funding and resources needed to make sure that every single student is able to participate in an inclusive learning environment?

Well, I am here to share some resources with you that have been helpful to other school districts in making sure that they are receiving the funding

and grants that are available to them through their State's Department of Education.

For example, a Director from a North Carolina school district reached out

to me and she was very concerned because a deaf student had moved

into her district recently, but the funding wasn't there to be able to hire a sign language Interpreter and provide those services for the student.

So, what could she do?

Well, we started by Googling her states Department of Education, so

"the North Carolina Department of Education, special education funding"

and this could be whatever state that you are in. Start by Googling "the Department of Education special education funding." And this immediately took us to her state's Finance and Grants website.

This is where we were able to find all of the information needed for the school district to be able to apply for availablegrants and funding opportunities. We found that the application process could be submitted online, which made the process extremely easy. There was additional information about allotments and allocations, special grants, tuition reimbursement, and with the contact information listed, we were even able

to speak to a specialist who helped us further to see what resources were

available to make sure that the student got the required services.

So, this worked out very well for this school district, and we were so happy that we were able to help them find these resources. So again, I hope that this information is helpful and useful to you in ensuring that you're receiving all of the grants and funding available to you through your state's Department of Education.
