How Did We Start?

LAF Sign Language Solutions was started in 2021 in Lafayette, Louisiana which is known for it's rich culture, delicious cuisine, and a progressive Deaf community.

The company was created when the founders, Tre & Lillah Harris, noticed a big problem: a growing shortage of educational sign language interpreters across the nation.  Their solution? Virtual interpreting services!

Virtual interpreting is easy because most schools already have access to the technology needed for virtual interpreting to take place in the classroom. Our interpreters enjoy flexible schedules as well as working with students from across the U.S.

What Makes Us Unique?

Educational Interpreting is Our Specialty

Our team understands the unique challenges that educators and administrators face. We focus on building relationships and providing personalized solutions for each client.

We Become Part of the Team

We help busy educators by providing technical support for teachers, attending IEP meetings, supervising interpreters, and scheduling substitute interpreters when needed.

Our Interpreters

Because our services are virtual, we are able to utilize highly skilled and experienced educational interpreters from any location!

What Have We Been Up To?

Since 2021, our team of 20+ interpreters hailing from over ten different states have provided virtual interpreting services for elementary, middle, and high school students across the U.S...and we're still growing!

Here's what some of our clients have had to say:

"LAF SLS has filled a large gap in providing services for the students in our district. The services are easy to use and consistent"- Services Coordinator

"I am very impressed with the interpreter!

She is very skilled and I would love to have her help us out any time!"- Program Director

"I wouldn't hesitate to use this company because their interpreters are professional and they truly care!"- Parent

Our Vision?
